Waiting on Wednesday #31 ~ Every Little Thing (Hart's Broadwalk, #2) by Samantha Young

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

32335136

Title: Every Little Thing (Hart's Broadwalk #2)
(Click on the title to know more about it on goodreads.)
 Author:  Samantha Young
Genre:  Contemporary Romance, Adult Fiction
Publication Date:  March 7th, 2017

Goodreads Summary:

The quiet town of Hartwell is the perfect place to get away from it all - and find what you never knew you needed . . .

Bailey Hartwell has many reasons to feel content - her successful business, a close circle of friends and her steady boyfriend . . . even if their romance feels staid after ten years without a serious commitment. The only challenge in her life comes in the form of sexy businessman Vaughn Tremaine. She thinks the ex-New Yorker acts superior and that he considers her a small-town nobody. But when Bailey's blindsided by a betrayal, she's shocked to discover Vaughn is actually a decent guy.

Vaughn admires Bailey's free spirit, independence and loyalty. As his passion for her has grown, his antagonism toward her has only worsened. Every little thing Bailey does seduces him. But when Vaughn's painful emotional past makes him walk away in fear he will hurt her, it opens an old wound in Bailey, and she uncharacteristically retreats.

Once Vaughn begins to realise he's made the biggest mistake of his life, he has no choice but to fight like he's never fought before to convince Bailey that the love they've found together only comes around once in a lifetime .

I'm waiting because...

I like Samantha Young's books. The first book in this series was good but what had me more excited was Bailey and Vaughn's chemistry. I couldn't wait for their story since I read about them in the first book. So hopefully it turns out good when I do get to it.

What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

TOP TEN TUESDAY #16 ~ TOP TEN BOOKS I LIKED MORE/LESS THAN I THOUGHT

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's topic is Top Ten Books I Liked More and Less Than I Thought.

I'm dividing it in 5 books, first 5 will be books I liked more than I expected and second half will be books I Liked Less than I expected.
(Click on the titles to go to their Goodreads's Page).

1. Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling) by Nalini Singh:

I read tons of great reviews of this series, so I knew I would enjoy this but had no idea how much I would end up loving it!! It is now my top favourite series. I cannot get enough of it and can't stop recommending it either.

2. Irresistibly Yours (Oxford) by Lauren Layne:

While this was not the first series I read by Lauren Layne it was Sex, Love & Stiletto series and this is a spin off of it. I read this book right after that series and this book is my top favourite so had to add this one on the list. This was a new author for me and I ended up absolutely loving her writing. After this, I read two more series by her, The Wedding Belles and New York's Finest. Love them both.

I love this trilogy and loved Zuzana and Mik in the books. While Iove this author's writing, novella is what I never LOVE, I do like them but they always leave me unsatisfied and very few grab my attention. This one absolutely floored me. And even though I wanted more of Zuzana and Mik, this book was so different and charming, it just exceeded my expectations.

While I loved Marie Harte's The McCauley Brothers's I didn't expect this series or this book in particular to love it as much as I did cause the hero, Foley is a hot mechanic and the heroine, Cyn is a smart business woman with a body weight complex. But they couldn't be more perfectly fit together. I adored them both throughout the book and the story was just perfect for them.

I had never read any historical books before reading this series, so I had minimal expectations to love this genre. I guess I chose a perfect series to begin with this genre cause not only did I love reading historical books, I ended up loving all the Bridgertons. They were so charming and lovely, I want more of their books!

I'm now gonna list some books I liked less than I thought I would(Note: Not Hated just less liked). I never talk crap about books cause mostly I find fewer flaws, I've never DNFd a book partly because I am a bit optimistic and find some good things in each book and partly because I choose the books to read a bit carefully.

I absolutely loved the writing and I am going to definitely read some other titles by her, but I didn't end up liking this as much as I expected. I liked it but didn't love it. I didn't quite get the concept of this series and didn't like the ending too, it felt abrupt leaving me unsatisfied and as a Happily Ever After reader, I couldn't digest that well I think. That is why this book is on this side of the list.

I was in a New Adult phase when I read this one. There were just so many great books out in this genre that I couldn't help but expect a lot from this series. And it turned out to be a bit underwhelming. I didn't like the hero that much and also the story was a kinda not my type. Nevertheless, I did enjoy reading it and it was a 3 stars book for so not that bad.

I really love the titles of this series, all the Back Street Boy songs titles just the characters and stories weren't that impressive for me.

Nowadays I feel like YA books are just getting too hyped up and they can't compare to Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles or to Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry and I just started reading this book with tons of expectations because of hype but I ended up not liking the characters that much or the story. But the silver lining is, I loved Emery Lord's writing and I plan on reading her other books because of that.

Like I said, above for Oxford series, I love this author's writing and I love all her books so I always have certain kind of expectations from her work, and though the writing and story didn't disappoint me, the hero did. I didn't like his reasoning good enough to stay apart from the girl throughout the book. But it wasn't a total disappointment so it was a 3 stars book for me.

So there you go. That is my top ten band list.

Review ~ Accidentally on Purpose (Heartbreaker Bay, #3) by Jill Shalvis

Goodreads Summary:

There’s no such thing as a little in love…

Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .

There’s no such thing as a little in lust…

Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .

There is such a thing as…

As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along.

My Rating - 4.5 stars!

My Review :

I will just never get tired of reading Jill Shalvis's books and recommending them. She is an amazing author and I absolutely love everything she writes. JS has never disappointed me and she didn't with this book either. I was waiting for this book so badly seeing Archer and Elle's chemistry in the previous books and the hints about their shared pasts, just got me excited. I was very glad to read it cause it was a very enchanting story with exquisite characters, this book just became my top favourite of 2017!

Archer, a former cop, works in a security detail with bunch of other guys under his team. He's the alpha man. I mean if it's Jill Shalvis's book, you can expect an alpha man, but Archer just tops them all I feel. Nothing and no one can rattle him except a particular stiletto wearing blonde.

Elle works as a building manager and both Archer and Elle have a group of spectacular friends. Now when I first read about her, of course I liked her you can't not like any character JS writes about, but thought she will be a little different as she appeared to be intimidating. But when I started reading this book you actually come to know her and there is a vulnerability in her below all that tough girl skin. And she wasn't just this classy girl from before she changed her life over, she actually was dirt poor and her past was terrible yet she just built her life so well, reading this I immediately got this immense respect for her. Also, we see that she is extremely helpful towards her friends and we get to see much more of that in this book. All these things just made her one of my top favourite female protagonists. She also has an obsession with tea so that also helped her status in my book.

Like I said before, there is a lot of sizzling chemistry between Archer and Elle. But they're enemies because Elle thinks Archer doesn't want her and Archer thinks that he's not good enough for her. *Men!* But as Elle starts getting out there and starts dating Archer doesn't believe they're good enough for her either. It was quite fun reading that. Then enter Elle's sister and all her past problems come crashing. Even though Elle is no damsel in distress and she really does have everything under control, Archer being there and slaying her dragons just earned him tons of cookie points. Making him one of my book boyfriends.

The struggles, the romance, the emotions and the sweetness, everything in this story was just perfect. You also get to meet all the favourite people from this series. All their friends Fin, Pru, Willa and Spence, also all the guys in Archer's team. They were all fun and amazing at the same time. I would've liked to see more of Willa and Keane. But there's a lot of Spence in this story. So everything was good. I honestly can't wait for his story! I want it like yesterday! I recommend Accidently on Purpose to all the Contemporary Romance readers out there.

Some of my favourite quotes(there are tons believe me):

*
When he was with her like this, he found himself. It was as simple and terrifying as that.
*
He made it hard for a girl to not fall head over heels.
*
"Shh,” he said gently and crouched down to her level. “Just me. Scoot.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re having bad dreams. I’ll beat them off for you.”
“How?”
“I’ll hold you tight and not let anything get you.”
*
Pru smiled and took her hand. "You do know that when this category five storm hits, your real sisters will be at your back, right?" Willa took her other hand and squeezed, nodding her agreement with Pru's words, her eyes solemn. "Always," she said. "Through sickness, gray hair and health, babe."
*
“Okay,” Max piped up. “I have a girlfriend now so I know this one. When Rory says ‘wow’ like that, it’s not a compliment. It means she’s thinking long and hard on how and when I’ll pay for my stupidity.”
*
"What is it with us?” she murmured.
He laughed softly.
“How is that a funny question?”
“Because I try very hard to always know what I’m doing,” he said. “But I’m winging it here, Elle. I have no idea what we’re doing but one thing I’m sure as hell not doing is walking away from you. Not ever again.”
*
"I want you, Elle," he said, voice low and rough. "It's a goddamn ache, I want you so much."
"I want in your life, Elle. All the way in."

TOP TEN TUESDAY #15 ~ ALL ABOUT ROMANCE FREEBIE

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's topic is All About Romance Freebie.

I have been wanting to recommend some Romance Books for while now and since this topic is about Romance Freebie, I thought this is the perfect opportunity to do just that and get them recommendations rolling!

1. Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor) Series by Jill Shalvis:
7863423

What better way to start off romance book recommendations than by starting with Jill Shalvis's Lucky Harbor series. This book is one of my top favourites in the series also overall. When you're feeling down, wanna read about some small town cute romance stories, this is the perfect series to cheer you up. The writing, characters and stories are just amazing, you will not be disappointed reading this.

2. About that Night (FBI/US Attorney) by Julie James:

Next I have FBI/US Attorney series. Julie James is such a talented writer, you will fall for her writing immediately. It has got FBI, lawyers and everything. You get thrill, humor and romance rolled into one. It's a very classy series and I just can't get enough of it.

3. Sweet Little Lies (Heartbreaker Bay) Jill Shalvis:

Continuing with Adult Contemporary genre, I have another Jill Shalvis series based in San Francisco. A little group of friends who either live in the same building or have their businesses in that building. All of the characters are sweet. The stories are filled with their struggles, humor and great romance. A definite recommendation when it comes to a rocky yet sweet romance.

4. Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling) by Nalini Singh:

Its paranormal romance time. I can't recommend this series enough. I am always blabbering about this author and her books that everyone now should know that none of my recommendation, favourite and all that kinda lists or gonna be complete without this series. This author is a pure genius. This series has three interesting races, Changelings, Psys and of course humans. The stories are just incredible, you fall in love with each and every character and the writing and the brain used behind each every little detail just blows my brain. LOL. The romance is just wonderfuI in this series. You will devour each and every book in this series within hours. Just check it out on Goodreads and Paranormal readers? If you haven't read this series yet? You are massively missing out!

5. In Death series by J.D.Robb:

There are tons of books in this series and that's like a supply of unlimited Grade A candies.  So who's complaining? I think mostly everyone is aware of this series and Roarke and Eve, So need I say more about this series? A series set in future with a badass female detective and amazing, hot Irish billionaire who devotes his life for her, and the stories are filled with amazing, thrilling and badass mysteries. Yep, It just sounds like my kinda series.

6. Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry:

I just LOVE this book by Katie McGarry. Its on the top of my YA favourites list. YA readers, if you haven't read this book? You gotta read it like today! It has covered some problems and its just so motivating seeing Echo and Noah work so hard to get over their personal demons and the romance is obviously swoon worthy.
Today I'm not recommending YA books as much as I would like because I just have so many Adult books to talk about. But I will be talking more about YA books in detail in the future.

7. Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles:

4268157

Another YA book I love is Perfect Chemistry. Well, the trilogy. I just adore Fuentes( I honestly don't know how to properly pronounce this. This trilogy is more a realistic fiction. It definitely has great high school romance but it also shines a bright light on how people from the wrong sides of track really struggle in America. And it was just very emotional yet very inspiring to read. That being said, its not at all a dark series, it is fun and full of hopes, sweet and lovely stories.

8. Romancing the Mister (Bridgertons) by Julia Quinn:

110384

Moving to Historical fiction, I love Bridgertons series by Julia Quinn. You get a story for each Bridgerton sibling. The family is hilarious and set in olden days, its just lovely to read about them falling in love. Amazing, light and fun historical series.

9. Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways) by Lisa Kleypas :

693016

Its a story of an unconventional family trying fit in London society in 1800s. An ensemble of really great and lovely characters, whose stories you can't help but devour. Strongly recommend it for all historical readers out there.

10. My Kind of Wonderful (Cedar Ridge) by Jill Shalvis:

25317360

I started this series with a JS book, thought I would end with her book only. This easily is amongst my top 5 favourite romance books. It's trilogy of Kincaid siblings who own a family Resort. Its set in winter and its snowing and its all about skiing and everything just makes it a perfect winter read. I love this book because the heroine has shown recovering from cancer and her personality is just so inspiring, she is my top favourite heroine. Hudson too has his own set of problems and they cope with them together and the chemistry between them is enough to blow all the lights in Cedar Ridge so you can't pass on this book.

So there you go. Let me know if you've read the books I mentioned above or if they are on your TBR. And leave the links to you Top Ten as well, I'll be happy to visit your blogs!

What are You Reading Wednesday #1 ~ Roadside Assistance and Bloodlines

What are you reading is a weekly feature hosted by It's a Reading Thing where you tell about what you're reading by answering the below three questions. For more details visit the link above.

1. What's the name of your current read?
~ I am reading two books right now. First one is Roadside Assistance by Marie Harte and Bloodlines by Richelle Mead.

2. Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your ebook and share a couple of sentences.
~ 1. Roadside Assistance:

“I asked what you thought about dogs. Lara went into her bedroom to find the puppy that’s supposed to be hiding under the bed.” Cyn grinned, and Sam hated that suddenly he could totally relate to what Foley saw in her. “Except he’s been hugging my foot all through dinner. She leaned down and picked up a pit bull mix no bigger than a breadbox. “Oh my gosh, he’s adorable.”

~2. Bloodlines:

"I shook my head, still smiling. “You’ll have a hard time getting any Alchemist to admit that. But I can say you’re okay for an irreverent party boy with occasional moments of brilliance.” “Brilliant? You think I’m brilliant?” He threw his hands skyward. “You hear that, world? Sage says I’m brilliant.” “That’s not what I said!”

3. Would you like live in the world that exists within your book?
~ Hmm. Roadside Assistance is a Contemporary Romance book set in a beautiful town so, yeah I would love to live there. In Bloodlines, it certainly would be cool but there's just too much action and tension in it and while writing this I am not feeling like it, having come from the gym and all lol. So my answer is maybe not now. Maybe later when I am feeling strong? LOL.
