Exclusive Excerpt:
I ran my fingers down her pink cheek, but was quickly distracted by some commotion near the entrance. After spotting a guy in a ski mask, an icy chill coasted down my back. From a distance, it looked like one of Cassidy’s friends. I expected him to march over to me, but it became clear it was just a couple guys horsing around. They made their way toward the kiosk to grab some coffee. As they did, the guy I initially saw pulled off his mask before slapping his buddy on the back. Bri cleared her throat to grab my attention. Her gaze was inquisitive as she stared at me, so I did exactly what she did to me when I tried to read her and took another long sip of coffee. “Do you want to crash at my apartment or go back to yours?” I asked, setting down my cup and ignoring the way my skin continued to crawl. Bri eyed me with caution. “It doesn’t matter to me. Yours would probably be better. The girls still aren’t the biggest fan of you and think I’m insane for believing things will actually be different.” I scowled. “We’ll go back to mine.” “It’s going to take a while for everyone to come around. Kylie and Peyton aren’t the only ones who’ve weighed in on us,” Bri murmured, twisting her hands together. “Yeah, I’ve gotten an earful from Micah, Shane, and Mia. After what happened last Friday, I think Jackson is laying low with everyone, but when he does resurface, I’m sure he’ll toss in his two cents,” I grumbled, keeping my eyes on the granite flecks in the table. She tilted my chin up. “They can say what they want, it’s not going to make a difference to me. I’m not going to let anyone get in the way of us being together. I know you won’t either.” As I stared at her flawless face, the piercing pain in my heart faded some. Her eyes searched mine and tranquil waves flowed through me. I rested my hand over hers, savoring the way she could chase away any awry feeling within me. Somehow over the years, she’d gotten even more beautiful, but that wasn’t what drew me to her the most. The kindness in her soul still left me in awe every day. I could live for a thousand years and never measure up to it. Bursts of desire swept through me, and I brushed my lips across hers. Apparently, it was far too brief for her. She grasped the back of my neck and intertwined her tongue with mine. I returned the kiss with just as much fervor. After exploring every aspect of my mouth and lingering around my tongue ring, she released a heady moan. A few people groaned as they walked past us, so I reluctantly pulled away. Bri sucked in a few breaths before raising her eyebrows. I shook my head to regain my wits. It was still far too easy for me to get distracted by her amazing mouth and body. “I’ve been meaning to ask you, what led to Peyton beating the crap out of Jackson? She never lets guys get to her, so it was odd to have that be the catalyst to you being in cuffs. I mean, I’m all for you in handcuffs, but not under those circumstances,” I said with a sinful grin.Catch up with Fighting for Someday:

COVER REVEAL | TO HAVE AND TO HATE BY R.S. GREY
R.S. Grey’s next standalone rom-com, To Have and To Hate, is coming March 19th! Check it out today!
About To Have and To Hate:
Marry a man I barely know to save my family from ruin. It might’ve been simple, if my betrothed were anybody else. On our wedding day, my husband-to-be arrived at the courthouse like a black cloud rolling over Manhattan. Walt didn’t crack smiles or pepper in pleasantries as we exchanged hollow vows in front of the judge. His disdain for me was so palpable I assumed we’d walk out of that ceremony and resume our regularly scheduled programming. But then fate was like, Hold my beer. I got this. In desperate need of help and with nowhere else to turn, I had no choice but to ignore a crucial rule in our contract: I shall only contact Mr. Jennings II in case of emergency. But hey, what’s a little fine print between husband and wife? Turns out, Walt’s a stickler for legalese—I think it might be his love language. Oh, and his attitude at the courthouse wasn’t a put-on. My so-called husband is a jerk. He takes what he wants without giving any consideration to other people—specifically ME, his blushing, contractually-obligated bride! I knew life with Walt would be no honeymoon, but a marriage of any sort should still come with a few standard guarantees: To have and to hold. For richer or poorer. In sickness and in health. But after experiencing Walt’s version of wedded bliss, I say let’s forget about all that lovey-dovey crap and just take me straight to death do us part.About R.S. Grey:
